Hey guys! I decided my next post should be about something big in my life: my fiance.
Mike and I have been dating for almost two years and we both felt we were ready for the next step. He had hinted towards a proposal around the end of 2013 or even 2014, so I was not expecting anything anytime soon.
He had told me he was going to the Cincinnati Reds game on Sunday with some friends. I was kinda bummed because I wanted to go. Unfortunately I had to work.
After I got off work I ate dinner then decided to work out with my sister. Not thinking my life would change later that night I changed into some workout clothes and began working out. A few minutes into it my dad ran downstairs and said he need my two sisters help with something upstairs. All I kept thinking was 'why didn't he need my help?'. A heard a faint knock on the door and my mom told me to get it. So I walked to the door and peeked through the glass and saw Mike's car. I was completely confused because the game was supposed to start at 8 and it was a little after 8. I opened the door and leaned further out and Mike was standing on my porch dressed in my favorite shirt he has.
He seemed kinda nervous and I was asking what was going on. He grabbed my hands and told me he had lied to me. (I thought two things: he did something wrong or what I thought was going to happen was this). He began telling my how much I mean to him and the rest of our lives.
He then said that he had told me he was going to catch me a baseball (like he does at every game) and that he did. He then got down on one knee and opened the baseball and there was a beautiful engagement ring inside of it. I was in complete shock. Of course I said YES!
We then went inside to show my parents and sisters and then drove to tell his parents my answer.
I am ecstatic that I get to spend the rest of my life with the person I love!
